You can tile onto most walls and floors as long as the surface is flat, level, clean, and stable. Common surfaces include plaster, plasterboard, concrete, backing board, and existing tiles - provided they’re sound and well-prepared. Good preparation is key, so make sure any old paint, dust, or loose material is removed, and always use a suitable primer before tiling. If you’re unsure whether your surface is suitable, your tiler or our team can offer advice.
