Porcelain paving is very low maintenance.
- Regular cleaning: sweep, then wash with warm water and a mild detergent.
- Green algae or black spots: use our LTP Black Spot & Algae Remover, following the instructions on the bottle.
- Weeds in the joints: brush them out. Using a resin or polymer jointing compound when laying helps stop them coming back.
- Pressure washing: fine on porcelain, but keep the nozzle away from the joints, as it can wash out sand-based jointing.
Avoid acid-based cleaners unless the product label says they're safe for porcelain.
Clean properly during installation. It's vital that any jointing compound, grout or mortar is cleaned off the paving as it's laid, before it sets. Once dried, it leaves a dull, cloudy film called grout haze, which normal cleaning won't remove.
