Tile sizes are given as a nominal size, which is the standard size a tile is sold as, such as 60x60cm or 30x60cm. The actual size of each tile, known as the working size, can differ from this by a few millimetres, for example 597x597mm. This is normal across the tile industry, and the exact working size can vary between factories and between batches.
